Church History

Love Tabernacle of God Praise and Worship Christian Center was established on March 19, 2004, in the State of Florida. The ministry was founded through the divine calling imparted to Elder F. Emmanuel Carvil and his mother, Elder Mary D. Carvil. Through a dream and vision, the Lord spoke clearly to Elder Carvil, declaring, “It is time for Love to be established.” At the time, Elder Carvil was faithfully serving as Senior Pastor of Angels of Mercy Ministries International. In obedience to this call, he entered a season of prayer, fasting, and study. Upon completion, God gave clear direction on how to establish, incorporate, and structure what is now Love Tabernacle of God Praise and Worship Christian Center, Inc.

The name and foundational principle of Love Tabernacle are drawn from Galatians 5:22–23, which speaks of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. Love, being the first expression of the fruit of the Spirit, is recognized as the foundation of the Christian faith. Scripture affirms that it was God’s love for the world that moved Him to give His only Son (John 3:16). Love therefore stands as the guiding principle of Love Tabernacle, shaping an atmosphere rooted in love, praise, and worship.

Following its inception, Love Tabernacle began holding services in the home of Elder Mary D. Carvil at 7401 NW 10th Avenue. For eleven months, the ministry gathered for worship on Sundays and Fridays, while Bible study was held on Tuesday evenings in the homes of various members. During this period, the congregation experienced steady growth. One of Elder Carvil’s core teachings emphasized that family is ordained by God, and through this vision, Love Tabernacle became a place of family restoration, recovery, and healing.

As attendance increased, the home setting could no longer accommodate the growing ministry. In February 2005, Elder Sol and Tallulah Ann Johnson, Senior Pastor and Founder of Christian Foundation Center, sowed into the vision of Love Tabernacle by extending an invitation to utilize their former facility. After prayerful consideration by the board and senior members, the church relocated to 5704 Northwest 22nd Avenue, where services were held for nine months.

During this time, the impact of Love Tabernacle was evident not only within the congregation but throughout the surrounding community. Families were healed, lives were restored, and individuals affected by drugs, crime, sexual abuse, and alcoholism found refuge, peace, and transformation through the ministry. Many experienced renewed understanding, secured employment, and accessed resources that helped them rebuild their lives. Love Tabernacle emerged as a beacon of light within the community and a source of strength and support for other churches. Though its primary calling was to Liberty City, the ministry embraced every opportunity to serve and bless wherever God opened doors.

As God continued to move, the facility once again became too small. Through a divine connection, Evangelist Joyce Samuels, Pastor and Founder of Life Changing Deliverance Ministries, was led by the Lord to merge her church with Love Tabernacle. Following this union, Love Tabernacle relocated to 2099 Opa-Locka Boulevard.

In the spring of 2006, after an extended period of prayer and fasting, Elder Carvil was called by the Lord to join the Mount Calvary Holy Churches of America, overseen by Bishop Harold I. Williams. This connection was facilitated through Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr., Jurisdictional Bishop of the Mid-Atlantic Churches and First Vice-Bishop of the organization, at that time. Since joining the fellowship, Love Tabernacle has experienced continued spiritual enrichment and growth.

After two years of serving as a beacon of hope in the Opa-Locka community, the Lord opened another door through Elder Charles and Andrea Johnson. Love Tabernacle relocated to 1750 Northwest 1st Court, which became its home for five years. During this time, numerous community initiatives were launched to serve and uplift the surrounding area.

In the fall of 2012, Love Tabernacle continued its mission of transforming lives through a partnership with Bishop Rodney and Lady Carolyn Welch, relocating to 102 NW 7th Avenue in Dania Beach, Florida. For the next six years, the church faithfully shared the Gospel through its core principle of love. It was during this season that the ministry adopted the motto, “Loving You Into Wholeness!”—embracing the understanding that God is concerned not only with the soul, but with the complete well-being of the individual.

In the fall of 2018, following a season of prayer and fasting, Love Tabernacle was reminded of its original call to the Liberty City community. In obedience, the church returned home and relocated to its current location at 6248 Northwest 15th Avenue. The doors were opened during a time of significant community transition, marked by rapid gentrification and widespread commercial and residential development.

Amid these changes, Love Tabernacle has remained steadfast in its mission. Serving people of all nationalities and generations, the church continues to be a place of worship, fellowship, and community engagement. Notably, Love Tabernacle launched one of the first Christianity and Mental Health Symposiums, an initiative that has since gained national recognition, helping individuals understand that faith and professional mental health care can work together for a full and enriched life.

The story of Love Tabernacle of God Praise and Worship Christian Center is still being written. Scripture declares, “He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). As God continues to order the steps of this ministry, Love Tabernacle remains committed to walking in obedience to His will. “For in Him, we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28).
